The Day of the Lord is the final part of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus, also known and referred to as the âReturn of the Lord Jesusâ.
The âDay of the Lordâ is both a day of rejoicing and a day of mourning.
The Bible talks of the Day of the Lord as a day of reward and a day of recompense, a day of vengeance and a day of redemption, depends which side we are in, that being in the side of the Lord Godâs favour or fierce anger (Isaiah 34:8; 35:1-8; 61:1-2; 62:11; 63:4).
The Day of the Lord Jesus, would bring the Lordâs wrath and anger on the wicked but soon after that the Lord Jesus would commence His Millennium reign on earth (Zechariah 14:1-21).
Before the Day of the Lord, the Lord would send messengers of His to warn His people to âRepent and Returnâ (Malachi 3:1-4:5).
The Day of the Lord would be either the day of favour of the Lord (on the obedient Believers) or a Day of vengeance (on the unrepentant, disobedient and complacent Believers). The alert and watchful will have ears to hear and pick up the warnings sent by the Lord God and thereby repent, be purified and be ready, but the foolish will mock and reject it. For all those who do not take the warnings seriously, that Day would come suddenly âlike a Trapâ or like a Thief in the nightâ. (Daniel 12:10; Matthew 22:1-14; 24:42-51; 25:1-13; Luke 21:34-36; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6; 2 Peter 3;1-18; Revelation 2:4-5; 3:2-6, 15-22; 21:4-8; 22:11-17).
